What can we do as a parent workplace?

As a parent workplace, you have edit or view permissions for another workplace’s data in ASC-WDS. Alternatively, you can just be linked to another workplace to show that you’re part of a group or organisation.

Bulk upload or manually enter another workplace’s data

You can add new workplaces in a bulk upload, along with the data of any other workplaces that you’re responsible for.

You can still enter data manually, but larger organisations tend to use the bulk upload functionality.

Add a workplace to your group

To add a workplace that’s not using ASC-WDS, you’ll need to know:

  • their main service and whether it’s regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • the name and address of the workplace
  • what type of employer they are (for example, local authority, private)
  • how many members of staff they have

If the workplace you want to add uses ASC-WDS, that workplace will need to send you a link request.

Edit or view your other workplaces' data

Depending on your permissions, you can edit or view another workplace’s data. However, if you’re only linked to another workplace in your group or organisation, then you’ll have no access to their data.

Even if you do edit another workplace’s data, you should still encourage them to sign into ASC-WDS. They’d be able to view their own Benchmarks, access the Benefits Bundle and check their funding status for themselves.

You’ll need to add users for any workplace that you want to sign into ASC-WDS and they’ll only be able to see their own workplace’s data.
